Acts 2:1-21 ~ Pentecost

Text: Acts 2:1-2

Title: Pentecost

Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower

As we ordain and install our new Elders and Deacons today and remember the first Pentecost, we gather in worship seeking the same outpouring of God’s Spirit in our own lives. We have seen the power of God’s Spirit to bring life to the spiritually dead, to bring reconciliation across cultural boundaries, and replace our idolatry with a deep love for the one true God. May we hear the call of Peter to repent and believe in the living Jesus this Pentecost.

Acts 1:1-11 ~ The Ascension: What’s the Big Deal?

Text: Acts 1:1-11

Title: The Ascension: What’s the Big Deal?

Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower

In Acts 1, Jesus ascends to heaven to sit at the right hand of God and rule over all creation. But, before he leaves, he promises the Holy Spirit and sends us out to proclaim the reality of his reign. This Sunday, we consider how the ascension of Christ both comforts us and sends us out into the world on mission with God.

Text: Acts

Title: Are You a Barney?

Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower

This is the final week of a four week series reflecting on what it means to be a community that makes disciples who make disciples. Over the past three weeks, we have talked about connecting people with God, growing in community, and serving the world out of our brokenness. This week, we look to the life of Barnabas to consider how we can multiply our lives by investing in others. This Sunday, we ask: Are you a Barney?

Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower

This Sunday we continue our reflection on what it means to be a community that makes disciples who make disciples. Last week, we talked about the importance of making connections with unbelievers and connecting them with God. This Sunday, we consider the opposite, the importance of finding a community of believers to share life with and encourage us in our journey with Christ.

Matthew 28:16-20 ~ What is Your Mission?

Text: Matthew 28:16-20

Title: What is Your Mission?

Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower

This morning we begin a four week series tied to our mission and vision as a church. Because we are also in the season of Easter, most weeks, we will look at our mission through the lens of one of the resurrection/appearance stories. This week, we consider Matthew 28:16-20, as Jesus gives his disciples the great commission to go and make disciples. What might it mean for you to intentionally go and make disciples this week?

Join us on Sunday as we consider the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and how we have responded to the hope we have in Christ.

Matthew 21:1-17 ~ Palms, Praises, and Other Plans

Text: Matthew 21:1-17

Title: Palms, Praises, and Other Plans

Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower

This Lenten Season, we celebrate Jesus through the eyes of the Gospel of Matthew. On this Palm Sunday, we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry, the shouting of the crowds, the waving of the branches, and also the consternation of those in authority as he clears the temple. As the people of his day to the mission of Jesus wrong, we ask ourselves this Palm Sunday if we too have forced our agendas onto Jesus rather than making his mission our own.
