Title: Parenting through Proverbs:The Discipline Years
Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower
This Sunday, we continue our sermon series on parenting called: Parenting Through Proverbs. In this practical and lighthearted series, we will look at wisdom from the book of Proverbs and both compare and contrast with the wisdom of Dr. Seuss. In the second week of this series, we look at Provers 19:18 and consider both the importance of and how to discipline/disciple children during those hectic and wonderful toddler years.

Title: Twisted: Root of Evil
Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower
The Bible is full of wisdom. People love to quote their favorite verses to encourage and inspire each other—but sometimes, those verses get taken out of context. What happens when the most important message of all gets Twisted? In the final week of this short series we look at 1 Timothy 6:10. Not only taken out of context, but also often misquoted to say money is the root of all evil, our passage this week invites us to think carefully about how we relate to money.

Title: Twisted: Plans to Prosper
Preacher: Mr. Ron Radcliffe
The Bible is full of wisdom. People love to quote their favorite verses to encourage and inspire each other—but sometimes, those verses get taken out of context. What happens when the most important message of all gets Twisted? In the third week of this short series we look at Jeremiah 29:11. We see it on graduation cards, and on trinkets. But, what if it doesn’t mean exactly what we think it means? And, what if the actually meaning is something better?
Text: Matthew 7:1
Title: Twisted: To Judge or Not to Judge?
Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower
—but sometimes, those verses get taken out of context. What happens when the most important message of all gets Twisted? In the second week of this short series, we look at Matthew 7:1 and wonder what Jesus meant when he said, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”
Text: Acts 2:1-2
Title: Pentecost
Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower
As we ordain and install our new Elders and Deacons today and remember the first Pentecost, we gather in worship seeking the same outpouring of God’s Spirit in our own lives. We have seen the power of God’s Spirit to bring life to the spiritually dead, to bring reconciliation across cultural boundaries, and replace our idolatry with a deep love for the one true God. May we hear the call of Peter to repent and believe in the living Jesus this Pentecost.
Text: Acts 1:1-11
Title: The Ascension: What’s the Big Deal?
Preacher: Rev. Greg Brower
In Acts 1, Jesus ascends to heaven to sit at the right hand of God and rule over all creation. But, before he leaves, he promises the Holy Spirit and sends us out to proclaim the reality of his reign. This Sunday, we consider how the ascension of Christ both comforts us and sends us out into the world on mission with God.
